Vowos Proxy Server is middleware software that primarily acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. In other words it is used by control applications to establish connections between system components. It may be referred to as a database powered framework  for defining and interconnecting vowos applications. Additionally Vowos proxy allows users to retrieve information from Microsoft SQL database. Distributed fileserver is a networking solution for the high-speed transfer and management of media (content logistics) . It is an asset exchange technology that provides automated (and manual)  content transfer, transcoding, as well as handling file registration in the vowos framework database. Vowos distributed FS also provides support for certain third-party and proprietary applications. Selected transcoding features, and syntactic QC is also built into  the fileserver. This approach allows operators to consolidate a MXF, MOV, AVI, WAV, STL, XML or other files into one object and perform further manipulations on this object. XMV provides an interface to finally transfer this object into a destination such as an archive, prearchive NAS, advanced MAM solution or a play-out environment.

With the quality assurance process out of the way, one needs to annotate media. Our solution has sophisticated metadata entry, review and exploration capabilities starting from simple markup, segmentation, error annotations all the way to detailed media metadata. A media object can preserve metadata in XML or in a database system. Additionally, XMV is capable of transferring metadata from XML to DB (database) and from DB to XML.
